Adjust Your Lens IV: Examining Our Systems – Community Celebration

A celebration of the vibrant 2SLGBTQ+ communities in Peel region and beyond through a performance showcase.

After a challenging year and a thought-provoking forum in November, Moyo Health & Community services is bringing our communities together (virtually) for a celebration of the vibrant 2SLGBTQ+ communities in Peel region and beyond.

This celebration will bring together queer and trans folks, as well as allies, to watch a performance showcase of some of the most talented members of our local communities. From drag performers to poets, this event will have you dancing in (or out of) your seat and feeling pride for the resilience of the incredible queer and trans folks sharing this space.

Access: This event will be held using the Zoom webinar feature therefore, cameras and microphones upon entry will be deactivated.

Jennifer Alicia (they/she) is a queer, mixed (Mi’kmaw/Settler) storyteller originally from Elmastukwek, Ktaqmkuk (Bay Of Islands, Newfoundland), now residing in Toronto. She is a two-time national poetry slam champion and member of Seeds & Stardust Poetry Collective. Jennifer Alicia’s debut chapbook is being released by Moon Jelly House Fall 2020. The Virgo Queen (Jaden MacPhee) was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario and attended the Etobicoke School of The Arts. She was a finalist on Season 6 of The Next Star and studied Music at Humber College for two years before she started pursuing Drag. The Virgo Queen hosts two weekly shows in Toronto’s Gay Village: The Virgo Show on Fridays at The Drink, and The Virgo Queen at Church Street Garage on Mondays. She is the reigning Miss Future Fierce, but more importantly, The Virgo Queen works to bring together the black community and queer community, and fight against discrimination in all its forms.
